  3. Yea, it's the same photo that we had framed for the poker evening a year ago! Joel had been keeping it in his car so he could glance at it while stuck in Auckland traffic ;)
What I remember of this cigar is that it was both tasty and yet very mellow for the first quarter. It picked up some spice, pepper in the second quarter and then an increasingly exciting edge until the last quarter was a bit hot and burnt my lips. I forget what we decided for taste- I think my impressions were of 'green' wood, or plants or whatever. Then again, we had a cigar every night with pepe greg so I could be getting my cigars mixed up.

  4. Yeah I think Sam's thoughts leaned towards plants but couldn't pin-point the exact plant/green/thing. For me, I can't remember but do know that when first lit, the smoke smelt super good and the first quarter was smooth mild and tasty. There was plenty of slober which meant you would never mistake which end to puff from.

  6. Andrew, Joel, Greg and I had another one of these on Tuesday. It tasted quite green, even though it had been in Joel's good humidor for a while. Also it didn't draw too well but as Joel pointed out no two hand-rolled cigars are identical.

  7. hmmm, disappointing, the one i had was mild cedar, very pleasant. re:draw it could have been poorly rolled, but always a possibility that it was a bit humid especially in auckland haha. "dry boxing" ie storing your cigars for a couple hours at 60% or lower humidity just before you smoke can avoid this.
