Cohiba Maduro 5

I haven't been keeping my travel humidor humid enough so it may have impacted on the taste of this cigar. Didn't seem too dry though. Nice experience.

  1. Just returned from the master's lair (Xav and Finlaeic's) and we enjoyed the same cigar (in two halves) as the cigar was very tightly packed. Cutting in half helped get a reasonable draw and thereby making it easier to discern flavours. Katy was right on the money when she identified the main flavour as cocoa - not bad for woman who was only using her nose (due to pregnancy)but not surprising being the daughter of Greg! Chapeau a Jean-Michel d'avoir discerne la presence de l'air frais dans la cigare.
Lots of love. Joyeuses Paques. Greg.
P.S. Dommage que je ne sois pas la avec vous tous. I suppose it will be alright that Joanne takes my place in the cigar tasting sessions.

  2. actually that cigar we smoked in a game of two halves was a hoyo de monterrey des Dieux! As usual i save the bad drawing cigars for myself. Must say chopping it in two after it was lit, smoking the lit end and then the front end worked a treat (in this case).

Anyway good Easter treat, the highest $/per gram tobacco cigar this year. Lovely to see you all gathered together perpetuating La Culture de La Table on a nice spring day in Provence. Hannah's chocolate Nuts, Katy's cocoa and Jean-Michel's Leather and Poo Birds were all welcome and accurate contributions to the tasting notes for this fine Cohiba. Bienvenue au Club.

And good to see Sam in a Real Farm Working Man's shirt instead of his usual bourgeois-metrosexual Parnell skinny tees. JM keep up the good work - soon you will have him constantly worrying about the weather and scheming up new winning ways to get ahead of the neighbouring farmers. Then he will be a New Man - Homo Provencalo Paysano. Ah ces agriculteurs!
